Fire Extinguishers form an important part of your Fire Risk Assessment. Prevent Fire Limited supply a range of Fire Extinguishers to suit your needs.
All our Fire Extinguishers are manufactured to BSEN3 and are Kite marked, they also carry the C E mark of approval, together with a 5 year manufacturers guarantee. They are a quality product that you can trust.
They are supplied with a suitable wall bracket and all our fire extinguishers have been commissioned as per BS5306 part 3 at no extra cost.
There are different classes of fire which require different types of Fire Extinguishers to effectively put them out. When choosing your Fire Extinguishers please see the chart for guidance.
Classes of fire:
- A, Fires involving solid, usually carbon-based materials, which burn with glowing embers, such as wood, paper or textiles
- B, Fires involving Flammable liquids, such as petrol, diesel, oils, etc
- C, Fires involving gases
- D, Fires involving metals
- F, Fires involving cooking fats and oils, such as would be found in deep-fat fryers
Water Extinguishers (Class A)
For use on class A fires. These water extinguishers offer excellent fire suppression for attacking freely burning materials such as paper, cloth and wood.
Available in 6litre or 9litre.

Water Extinguishers With Additive (Class A)
For use on class A fires. These extinguishers possess all the features of a water extinguisher with the advantage of being a compact and lightweight unit. The 3litre size has a 13A rating which is the same as a basic 9 litre water extinguisher.
Available in 3litre and 6litre.

Foam Extinguishers (Class A + B)
For use on class A and B fires. These foam spray extinguishers provide a fast and powerful means of tackling class A and B fires. Highly effective against petrol and burning liquids, forming a flame smothering seal over the surface preventing re-ignition. Available in 2litre, 3litre, 6litre and 9litre.

Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers (Class B)
For use on class B and ELECTRICAL type fires. Commonly known as Co2 extinguishers, ideal for the modern office environment, all electrical risks and where oils, spirits, solvents and waxes are in use. Available in 2kg and 5kg.

Dry Powder Extinguishers (Class A+B+C)
For use on class A, B and C type fires. Dry Powder is a highly versatile fire-fighting medium for most fire risks. In addition to dealing with electrical hazards, flammable liquids and gases it is also effective on vehicle fires. Available in 1kg, 2kg, 4kg, 6kg and 9kg.

Wet Chemical Extinguisher (Class F)
For use on class F type fires. Extremely effective on fires involving cooking oils and fats, it rapidy knocks the flames out, cools the burning oil and chemically reacts to produce a soap-like solution, sealing the surface and preventing re-ignition.
The extinguisher is easy to use, producing a gentle, but highly effective spray. The gentle application helps prevent hot oil splashing on to the user. Available in 6litre.

Specialist Powder Extinguishers (Class D)
For use on class D fires. These special powder extinguishers are designed specifically to fight combustible metal fires, such as sodium, lithium, magnesium and aluminium when in the form of swarf or powder.
The extinguishers have a special very low velocity applicator to ensure the fire fighting powder is applied efficiently and effectively to the burning metal and prevent burning swarf from spreading. Available in 9kg. Please contact us for more information on these special powder extinguishers.
